Quercus Vineyard Pinot Noir 2019
Review by Brendan Black
The 2019 Quercus starts off as quite an austere, savoury wine, with meat, black tea, black pepper and herbs backed by some sour red cherry, rose and raspberry, and lots of acidity. It takes quite a while to open up, and for the aromas and flavours to harmonise, but it’s worth the wait when the fruit sweetness comes through. Pinot noir can be quite a tempestuous grape to grow and sometimes it can even be temperamental to drink it, so have a bit of patience.
